Your Training - Driving Lessons

Training is designed to suit your needs, whether you are a complete beginner or whether you’ve driven before and wish to train to DSA test standard. You may have passed your practical test and wish to take some refresher lessons, having not driven for a while. You may have recently passed your practical test and now wish to complete the pass plus course or perhaps just want to gain some motorway driving experience. All this training is provided by MCM and by only fully qualified DSA registered instructors. How long will it take to reach practical driving test standard? The amount of training required depends on individual ability. Unlike some schools, we do not set a recommended minimum number of hours. Your training will not be rushed and it will not be slowed down, it will be set at your level! The decision as to when to apply for the practical test will be made between you and your instructor.

Training - Practical

Beginner: Commence with safety precautions on entering the car, instruction on the controls of the car and then follow the DSA syllabus right up to test standard. This training is carried out at your pace, you will not be rushed and neither will you be slowed down.

Some experience: You will have some previous experience of driving lessons with an instructor or perhaps privately with friends or relatives. Your instructor will assess your driving, see where the weaknesses are, and where, within the DSA syllabus, you should commence your training.

Refresher: Not driven for some time? Concerned about motorways or urban roads? Perhaps you need some practise in parking. Whatever the reason, your instructor will help you to regain your confidence and refresh those skills required!

Pass plus: This is a training scheme for new drivers. The aim is to improve your driving skills and make you a safer driver. The scheme has been designed by the DSA (Driving Standards Agency) with the help of the motor insurance and driving instruction industries. There are six modules to cover, these are: Introduction and town driving; All-weather riving; Out of town driving and rural roads; Night driving; Dual Carriageways; Motorways; many motor insurance companies will give a discount to those who complete this course.

Training – Theory Test

MCM can provide all students with the latest 2007/2008 software for them to buy or borrow (returnable deposit of just £10 required) enabling them to study at home at their will.
